Kareena Kapoor Khan has also talked about the emerging phenomenon of herd mentality in Bollywood, wherein there is a tendency among some filmmakers to quickly join the bandwagon by making a similar film after noticing the success of another one. When Yuvaa spoke with her, the actor said the relationship between the film world and viewers is changing. Kareena, who is waiting for her thriller Daayra to come out, added that audiences have become sharper. She feels people now pay closer attention to what kind of content they want to watch.

Kareena Kapoor Calls Out Bollywood’s Herd Mentality And Trend-Following

Kareena brought up Animal by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor. She used it to talk about how Bollywood often leans on proven patterns. In her view, when one kind of movie does well at the box office, other makers feel tempted to make films that look and feel alike. Kareena did not seem happy with that habit. She said creators should pause and figure out what the audience truly liked. She also mentioned that some people still choose a separate route.

Kareena talked about shifting trends and brought up Animal. She noted that the film’s big rise put a spotlight on violent stories. She also said, “Our audience is smarter than we think.” After that, she explained that the industry can jump to conclusions. It can take one hit and act like the same style will work again. Her remarks about Animal doing well and then others trying to copy the same type of violent film pointed to her main criticism. In her view, this habit turns a trend into a shortcut. It can shrink originality in mainstream movies.

Further, Kareena said that the current audience will ask questions before deciding to view a film. As per the actress, people are not ready to watch films just because they belong to any genre. Trailers, concepts, and narrative decisions might affect their decision-making, especially of young audiences. This, according to her, will make the filmmakers think twice before presenting any story in theaters.

Kareena praised directors who take chances and try new things. She also said they should aim to spark ideas, not just copy what is doing well right now. In her view, the film space is moving in a new direction. She added that the audience is now a key part of how that shift happens. She said filmmakers should not judge each work only by massive ticket sales. Her message points to originality. It also calls for better storytelling and bolder creative decisions, especially when people have so many options today. Kareena believes this change in what viewers want may lead Bollywood toward cinema that is more varied and has more meaning.
