Shreya Kalra has finally put an end to the confusion surrounding her Lock Upp 2 winner’s trophy. Soon after lifting the trophy in the grand finale, eagle-eyed fans noticed that it was engraved with “Season 1” instead of “Season 2,” sparking speculation that the makers may have reused the previous season’s trophy. Now, the content creator has revealed the real reason behind the inscription.
Speaking during a quick chat with the paparazzi, Shreya reacted to the viral theories with humour, saying, “Log bol rahe hai mujhe Munawar ki trophy tika di hai.”
Why Does The Lock Upp 2 Winner’s Trophy Read ‘Season 1’?
Shreya then explained that while this is the second overall season of Lock Upp, it marks the first season of the reality show on Netflix after the show shifted to the streaming platform. According to Shreya, that’s why the trophy carries the “Season 1” engraving, it refers to Netflix’s first edition of Lock Upp, not the franchise’s overall season count.
Why Was Internet Confused About Lock Upp 2 Winner Trophy?
The confusion began moments after Shreya Kalra was announced as the winner, when photos and videos of the trophy surfaced online. Fans quickly zoomed in on the engraving and questioned why it read “Season 1.”
One user wrote, “Btw trophy mai season 1 kyu likha hua hai.”
Another commented, “Jitna dimag script mai lagaya utna trophy mai bhi laga lete. Season 1???”
A third joked, “Purane season ka trophy leke aye haii shayad.”
Several other viewers also wondered if the makers had accidentally brought back the previous trophy, with comments such as “Me bhi soch rhi thi season 1 ki kaise ho skti hai” and “Itni hasi aa rahi hai yeh dekh ke, plus kisine kuch bola hi nahi trophy ko leke.”
However, Shreya’s clarification has now settled the debate. Since Lock Upp has made its debut on Netflix this year, the “Season 1” inscription represents the show’s first season on the streaming platform rather than its overall chronology.
Shreya Kalra Crowned Lock Upp 2 Winner
