Yami Gautam’s Strong Message Against AI-Manipulated Photos
It is pertinent to note that Yami Gautam used her X handle, which was previously known as Twitter, last Sunday to deal with the matter directly. The actress pleaded with the media not to use any AI alteration in her pictures when covering her public appearances. This actress said, “Kindly use images in original form,” after adding that manipulation of someone’s photo with AI technology should never be done without his or her knowledge and consent. Yami concluded her plea by thanking the media beforehand for heeding to her wishes.
Why Did Yami Gautam Ask Media To Stop Altering Her Images?
Yami’s demand has come amid growing debate about the use of AI-manipulated photos and videos featuring celebrities. Although the editing of photos has long been part and parcel of the entertainment industry, the emergence of sophisticated AI technology means that far more substantial modifications can be made to a person’s appearance. At times, this can even mean that a photo looks authentic despite being heavily edited. By demanding that media organizations do not use AI to edit her photographs without her consent, Yami has clearly stated her stance on the matter. She wants her photographs to be a true depiction of herself at the event.

Moreover, the statements from the actress are following Jr NTR’s concern over the misuse of AI where he pointed out the use of the Chuttamalle song from his movie Devara, starring Janhvi Kapoor. It was noted that the actor was against the morphed version of the video that brought up again the issue of deepfakes and manipulation of celebrity videos through AI. Similarly, the appeal from Yami centers on consent over the usage of AI when altering celebrities’ images or likenesses.
