Lady Gaga’s beauty brand, Haus Labs, is grabbing attention and not for the right reasons. The brand is facing backlash over its newest products after a popular beauty influencer raised concerns about whether they are suitable. The influencer was reviewing the brand’s new liquid bronzer collection when she highlighted some concerning issues, fuelling criticism against the brand.

Golloria George, popular for her reviews on various makeup products on social media, received the three darkest shades in the range. Excited, she decided to test the products on camera. After the trial of the bronzers, the influencer was extremely disappointed and questioned whether the shades were suitable for deeper skin tones. FYI, she had earlier reviewed the brand’s complexion products and found them praiseworthy.

In her review video on Instagram, George is heard asking, “Gaga, were you in that lab, sister? She goes on, “House of Labs. You guys usually do not miss. Did something change on the team?”

Further, she remarks, “I’m genuinely perplexed because I generally like a lot of House Labs complexion products, but this right here, that is not a gaga gag. That’s a gaga I got gagged. I don’t know what or who you guys switched up in that lab, but switch it back.”

Lady Gaga’s Brand Team Asks Influencer To Remove Video

Golloria’s review video was followed by another video where she reflected on why her original post was deleted. She started by expressing her fondness for the bond and added how she has been recommending the products to her followers on Instagram.

In her words, “House Labs, I hope you guys hear me when I say this. I love you guys to the bone. I’ve actually supported you guys for years. recommended the products and I’ve acknowledged how you guys have pushed this industry forward in terms of inclusion.”

Moving on, she began expressing disappointment with the brand’s team for asking her to remove the video. The influencer said, “This was my first ever negative review of a House Laps product. My team was told that the video needed to come down due to embargo concerns.”

Influencer Gives It Back

According to her, the products sent to her in the PR package were not under embargo as claimed by the House Laps team. To support her claims, she even showcased the package along with the note that accompanied it.

She explained she would not have revealed the product to the public if the team had mentioned it in the note. According to her, the product was already in public domain, even before her review.
