Priyanka Chopra is basking in the success of her latest spy-action series Citadel Season 2. The global icon is being praised for her power-packed performance in the second installment of the web series. Citadel has returned on Prime Video after the prequel released three years back. The spy-action show, which features Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci alongside Priyanka, premiered globally on May 6. The series quickly became a hot topic, with fans of the global star flooding X with reactions. While several viewers applauded the high-octane action and Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s performance, others criticised the show for its weak emotional connect and underwhelming storyline.

One fan wrote, “#CitadelSeason2 Review: Bigger, Bolder, More Explosive — But It’s @priyankachopra Who Truly Commands the Show. #RussoBrothers’s ambitious spy universe returns with a bigger scale and sharper action.” Another review read, “#CitadelS2 is a global adrenaline shot. #PriyankaChopra is in a league of her own. Every moment of Nadia Sinh’s struggle between motherhood and her lethal past has purpose. Pure scale. Pure intensity.”

Several viewers also praised the chemistry between Priyanka and Richard Madden. “The ‘Sexy Robot’ #RichardMadden is back, but this time with a soul — and the chemistry with PC is pure electricity,” a user posted. Another fan echoed similar sentiments and wrote, “Yup! And today was released Citadel season 2 and she is definitely the highlight of the season.”

However, not everyone was impressed with the latest chapter of the spy saga. A section of viewers criticised the series for relying too heavily on style over substance. “#Citadel2 fails to impress with a dull storyline, weak suspense, and outdated plot,” one user wrote. Another commented, “While #PriyankaChopra shines brilliantly, Mason Kane and Bernard Orlick deliver solid performances. Overall, the series feels slow and may test viewers’ patience. Not recommended for thriller fans.”

Some viewers were even harsher in their criticism. “Good news. I’ve watched this so you don’t have to. Bad news. Even the PC factor cannot make it work. #Citadel2 has worn out its welcome,” read one reaction. Another user added, “#Citadel new season is not even as good as the first part,” while one disappointed fan wrote, “Not expected such a mediocre spy drama from #JoeRusso.”
