Controversial influencers Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami, Florida, on Saturday following an extradition request from the United Kingdom. The arrests come after British prosecutors announced 38 additional criminal charges against the brothers. The two continue to deny all allegations.
What Are The New Charges Against Andrew And Tristan Tate?
The UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the new charges were filed after Bedfordshire Police submitted additional evidence.
Andrew Tate faces 32 new charges, including:
-
Seven counts of rape
-

Tristan Tate faces six new charges, including:
-
Two counts of rape
-
One count of sexual assault
-
Three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation
These are in addition to the 11 charges already filed against him.
The latest indictment brings 38 new charges against the brothers, taking the total number of charges to 59. The alleged offences involve seven complainants and are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.
Will The Tate Brothers Be Extradited?
The arrests in Miami do not automatically mean the brothers will be extradited to the UK. A US federal court will first determine whether Britain’s request meets the requirements of the US-UK Extradition Treaty. If approved, the final decision will generally rest with the US Secretary of State.
The Tate brothers are also facing separate legal proceedings in Romania over allegations including human trafficking and rape. They have denied wrongdoing in that case as well.
What Did Their Lawyer Say?
Following the arrests, the brothers’ US attorney, Joseph McBride, criticised the prosecution and described the new allegations as “filth and slander.” He argued that the charges are politically motivated and intended to interfere with the brothers’ legal actions in the United States. The Tate brothers have continued to maintain their innocence.
