Yoruba Comedian and Actor Adeshina Okiki Janmole Passes Away After Unfortunate Car Crash – Tributes Pour In From Nollywood Stars

Yoruba actor and comedian Okiki Adeshina, also known as Janmole passed away after a car crash.

Yoruba star Okiki Adeshina recently passed away due to a tragic car crash. The news of his death was confirmed by Bolaji Amusan of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN). 

Who was Okiki Adeshina? 

Okiki Adeshina, also known by his stage name Janmole was a Nigerian actor, filmmaker and comedian. He hailed from the town of Okeho from Nigeria’s Oyo State and belonged to the Yoruba community. Some of Janmole’s notable projects included Agunbaniro, Iyàwó Asante and  Ọgbọ́n Inu. However, his claim to fame was through the film “Jamonle”, which he produced.  

How Did Okiki Adeshina Die? 

Okiki Adeshina passed away after a tragic car crash in Nigeria. Further details about the accident have not been shared yet. But a few years ago, Adeshina had another near death experience when a massive fire happened along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. At that time, Adeshina managed to have a narrow escape.     

Details of TAMPAN’s Announcement 

Bolaji Amusan, president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), and also known as Mr Latin confirmed the news of Adeshina’s death. “May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace. May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen”, the post said. 

Posthumous Tributes for the Actor Comedian 

After TAMPAN’s official death announcement, tributes for Janmole poured in from multiple Nollywood celebrities. Actress Regina Chukwu said in a facebook post “Who would have thought that was going to be our last encounter? It’s a pity you had to go the way you did”. 

While fellow actor Akin Olaiya said “Inalilahi Wainalilahi Rojihuna. This is sad. Rest in peace, Adeshina Okiki Janmole.” And veteran Nigerian actor Sanusi Iziaq said “This was not the promise and plan. Everything just seems like a dream”. 

Many fans also paid tribute to the comedian actor. One of them wrote “May your soul rest in peace. Wishing your entire family strength and healing in this sad moment. Big loss to the movie industry.”  

And another fan penned “Janmole is gone. His art remains. Rest well, sir. Condolences to the family, friends, and Nollywood.”
