Class and royalty steal the show at Delhi’s fashion hub

Fashion is not something that remains restricted to what you wear. Fashion is everywhere. It is in the sky, in the streets, almost a way of living. The above quote is from Coco Chanel, which not only justifies this sense of fashion, but also sets apart the visionaries who want to build a persona of their own.

In the style cynosure of Delhi’s Defence colony, MRP@D7 kicked off the occasion with this spirit of fashion with the most elegant designs in its recent preview show featuring their latest designs.  The well renowned designers and trend setters from the fashion fraternity came together to unite the presence of class, royalty and suave signature of fashion in an extravagant way.

Speaking on the occasion, designer Mandira Wirk said, “I’m really looking forward to the amalgamation of stunning jewellery and beautifully crafted garments by my dear friends Rahul and Poonam. And of course, waiting to get a  positive feedback on the Mandira Wirk summer diffusion line and our Autumn-Winter collection.”

Quite a few veteran designers showcased their work, and took the occasion to shed light on their ideas of fashion. Well established jewellery designer Rahul Popli said: “I am proud to be part of this platform with two beautiful ladies, who are both super talented and virtuoso in their field. Amethyst jewellery blends well with Poonam’s simplistically beautiful designs and compliments Mandira’s ultra chic outfits.”

The Romance of Mughals, took the au courant and voguish collection at MRP@D7 by storm, standing out as the most eye-catching one. The collection drew inspiration from the luxurious costumes designed by the Mughal tailors during their stay in India

Likewise, Poona Bhagat shared her thoughts: “I am thrilled to be a part of this platform where three diverse designers meet to create a synergy that is harmonious and balanced.”

The collection presented by Poonam Bhagat, Taika ‘The Romance of Mughals’, took the au courant and voguish collection at MRP@D7 by storm, standing out as the most eye-catching one. The collection, as Bhagat put, drew inspiration from the luxurious costumes designed by the Mughal tailors during their stay in India, especially in the late 17th to early 19th centuries. Made from the finest silks, velvets, brocades and muslins, the collection made a showcase of Choghas with brocade or embroidered hemlines and scattered floral motifs and digital printed Voiles and Chanderis edged with pewter, copper and bronze; all being inspirations from Persia and Central Asia.

In the latter half of the occasion, Rahul Popli exhibited Amethyst with two new collections: the prêt collection and the Tribal Jadau Mélange. Both collections established a deep connection between a woman’s character and her style, Amethyst being the symbol of womanhood.

The event concluded with Mandira Wirk, a delhi-based fashion designer’s Autumn-Winter collection based on the 18th century artistic movement of Rococo.  Wirk’s entire collection has a regal touch to it coupled with the delicateness and elegance of the art movement showcased in a palette of ivory and gold, black and beige as well as tones of grey, maroon, pink, blue and red. The collection includes Aarikam, Shibori, Miss India collection and Gota collection.
