In a significant step towards deepening educational ties between India and Ukraine, the Indo Ukraine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IUCCI) is set to inaugurate the Ukraine Education Hub (UEH)—a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at simplifying and strengthening access to Ukrainian higher education for Indian students.

The Hub, to be formally inaugurated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to India, Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk, in the presence of diplomats, education leaders, and media representatives, comes at a time when nearly 6.5 lakh Indian students seek opportunities to study abroad each year. Positioned in the Delhi NCR, UEH aims to serve as a one-stop destination where students can directly interact with Ukrainian universities, explore academic programmes, and navigate admission pathways with clarity and confidence.

“The idea was never to create just another information centre,” says Armie Channa, founder of IUCCI, whose vision has been instrumental in shaping the initiative. “We wanted to build something tangible—something that removes confusion and replaces it with direct access. When a student walks into the Hub, they should feel that their global education journey has already begun.”

Unlike the fragmented and often unreliable information available online, the Ukraine Education Hub brings together universities, counsellors, and resources under one roof. With dedicated university booths, a centralised information desk, and ongoing support systems, the initiative is designed to offer a structured and transparent experience for students and their families.

Channa emphasises that the project goes beyond admissions. “Education is one of the most powerful ways to build long-term relationships between countries. Trade and policy are important, but it is students—young people—who carry these connections forward for decades. The Hub is really about investing in that future.”

The initiative also seeks to facilitate academic collaboration between Indian and Ukrainian institutions through exchange programmes and joint research efforts—an aspect that IUCCI views as critical to strengthening bilateral ties.

At its core, the Ukraine Education Hub reflects IUCCI’s broader philosophy of fostering meaningful Indo-Ukrainian engagement. Over the years, Channa has been involved in building platforms that extend beyond conventional diplomacy, focusing instead on practical, people-centric collaborations.

“Our approach has always been simple,” Channa explains. “If you want to build a real bridge between two countries, it has to touch people’s lives in a direct way. Whether it’s business, reconstruction, or education—the impact has to be real and accessible.”

The Hub is being spearheaded by co-founders Tanya and Ajay, who bring complementary expertise to the initiative. Tanya, with over eight years of experience including extensive work in the education sector, has played a key role in conceptualising and executing the platform. Ajay represents a younger generation of professionals, attuned to the evolving aspirations of Indian students and the demands of a globalised education landscape.

The choice of Baisakhi for the inauguration adds symbolic resonance to the event. Traditionally associated with renewal and new beginnings, the festival underscores the spirit behind the initiative—a forward-looking commitment to education and collaboration, even in uncertain times.

As global education becomes increasingly competitive and complex, initiatives like the Ukraine Education Hub aim to provide not just access, but assurance. For Indian students exploring international opportunities, UEH promises a clearer, more reliable pathway—while quietly strengthening the cultural and intellectual ties between two nations.

“The goal,” Channa reflects, “is not just to send students abroad, but to build a system where they feel supported, informed, and confident every step of the way. If we can achieve that, we’ve done something meaningful.”
