The salary hike under the 8th Pay Commission will mainly depend on the fitment factor. Many employees are eager to know how much this factor will be and how it will affect their revised pay.

8th Pay Commission: How Much Will the Salaries Be Raised?

The unions have demanded that the fitment factor should be locked between 2.86 and 3.25. If the government accepts a fitment factor of 3.25, the salaries of government employees will see a substantial rise.

For instance, the minimum basic salary, which is now ₹18,000, will go up to ₹58,500. During the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor was 2.57. This raised the basic pay from ₹7,000 to ₹18,000. The higher the fitment factor, the higher the raise in basic pay.
