These appointments are aimed at supporting the Commission’s work related to pay revision, pensions, allowances, policy research and financial analysis for Central government employees and pensioners.

The 8th Central Pay Commission has been constituted to review and recommend revisions to the salary, allowances and pension structure of Central government employees and pensioners. To assist in this exercise, the Commission is recruiting professionals on a contractual basis with expertise in finance, human resources, legal research, public policy, compensation and data analysis.

Selected candidates will assist the Commission in various research and analytical assignments. Their responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing existing salary structures, allowances, pensions and employee benefits.
  • Studying reports, surveys and government data to identify trends in compensation.
  • Conducting legal research related to service matters and the Commission’s mandate.
  • Coordinating with Central government ministries and departments to collect required information.
  • Supporting specialised studies on human resources, compensation, gratuity and bonus systems.

Applicants must satisfy the educational qualifications, experience and age requirements specified for each category.

Candidates should possess either:

  • A Master’s degree or MBA in Finance, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field; or
  • An LL.B degree with enrolment in a recognised Bar Council or Bar Association along with relevant experience in legal research or service matters before tribunals or courts.

Applicants must also have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets and presentation software. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in pay fixation, compensation, establishment or personnel administration.

8th Pay Commission Recruitment 2026: Salary Details

The appointments will be made on a contractual basis for one year or until the tenure of the Commission ends, whichever is earlier. The contract may be extended based on performance and the Commission’s requirements.

The monthly remuneration is as follows:
