8th Pay Commission: The 8th Central Pay Commission has extended the deadline for submitting memoranda and representations to May 31, moving it from the earlier date of April 30. This update was officially announced on Wednesday, April 29.
In a notice shared on its website, the Commission confirmed that the new last date for sending responses is May 31 (Sunday). It also made it clear that all submissions must be done only through the official online portal. “All submissions are to be made only through the link specified. Paper-based memoranda, hard copies, PDF submissions, or emails are not being considered or entertained by the Commission,” the statement said.
8th Pay Commission: Why Has the Deadline for Submissions Been Extended to May 31?
The extension comes at a time when the Commission is holding consultations with stakeholders in Delhi between April 28 and April 30. On April 29, discussions were held with the National Council Joint Consultative Machinery (NCJCM) Staff Side, where employee demands related to salary structure and service conditions were reviewed.
Due to ongoing consultations and reports of heavy traffic on the portal causing technical issues, the deadline has been pushed ahead by one month. This step aims to allow more people to participate in the process.
8th Pay Commission: Who Can Submit Representations?
The Commission has stated that many groups are eligible to send their suggestions. These include central government employees both industrial and non-industrial personnel from All India Services, defence staff, employees of Union Territories, staff of regulatory bodies except RBI, employees of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, judicial officers in Union Territories, service associations, pensioners, and various government organisations and unions.
