Baramati is preparing for the state funeral of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, scheduled to take place tomorrow at 11 am at the Vidya Pratishthan ground, following his death in a plane crash on Wednesday morning. Government officials confirmed that the funeral will be held with full state honours, reflecting Pawar’s long political service and influence in the region.

The tragic incident occurred as Pawar’s chartered aircraft attempted to land at Baramati Airport after departing from Mumbai. The plane went down during an emergency landing attempt, and all six people on board, including Pawar, were confirmed dead by authorities.

Pawar’s plane, a Bombardier Learjet 45, crashed near the Baramati airstrip around 8:45 am while attempting a landing. The flight had departed from Mumbai earlier that morning as Pawar was heading to Baramati to speak at political rallies for the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections.

Officials and eyewitnesses said the aircraft burst into flames on impact. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but sadly, no one survived.
