A plane linked to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar crash‑landed during an urgent landing attempt at Baramati Airport today. Ajit Pawar was confirmed dead in this crash along with 3 other people, triggering alarm among residents and staff.

This was a private jet aircraft, and Ajit Pawar was going to Baramati to attend a political event, and before the landing his aircraft crashed.

The aircraft attempted to land in emergency conditions early Wednesday morning, but skidded and suffered serious damage near the runway. Emergency services rushed to help, and ambulances transported injured passengers to nearby hospitals.

Ajit Pawar Passed Away

According to several media reports and social media updates, Ajit Pawar is dead in this tragic aircraft crash in Baramati, where he was going to attend his political event.

Onlookers and journalists near the airport captured visuals showing a badly damaged aircraft fuselage and smoke rising from the crash site. First responders acted quickly to secure the area and treat the injured. Fire and rescue teams are on the ground inspecting the wreckage.

Who Were the on Board With Ajit Pawar?

Ajit Pawar, Deputy CM of Maharashtra, was onboard along with 2 more personnel (1 PSO and 1 attendant) and 2 crew (PIC+FO) members in the charter plane, according to ANI. As per initial information, no person on board has survived the crash: DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).

What Happened During the Landing? Causes Still Unclear

It remains uncertain what exactly prompted the emergency landing. Initial reports point to a possible technical issue or sudden malfunction as the plane approached Baramati Airport. Officials and aviation experts are awaiting more details, and a formal probe may follow to determine why the aircraft could not complete a smooth landing.

Several passengers, including bodyguards and crew members, were injured in the crash. Local hospitals confirmed they are treating multiple people for varying levels of injury, but described most as non‑life‑threatening. The quick response by emergency units helped evacuate and provide medical care efficiently.
