Heavy rain has also caused extensive damage in Tirap district, where nearly 110 metres of the Khonsa-Lazu Road near the Post Office in Khonsa caved in, forcing authorities to suspend all vehicular movement.
The damaged stretch is a vital transport link connecting 16 villages under the Lazu Administrative Circle, including villages in the Tutnu Block, as well as Lapnan, Kheti and Thinsa. The road also provides access to key establishments such as the APSTS Bus Station, Assam Rifles Headquarters, CRPF Headquarters and the Government Higher Secondary School, Khonsa, significantly affecting daily movement and essential services.
