Baramati Airport Crash: Training Aircraft Crashes at Pune’s Baramati Airport, Emergency Services Rush to Site, Rescue Efforts Underway

The training aircraft crashed during the early hours of Wednesday. Rural police have now launched an investigation.

Pune: In a shocking tragedy, a training aircraft crashed near the Baramati Airport in Pune. Local authorities have now rushed to the site to handle the situation. 

What Went Down: Details of the Incident 

During the early hours of Wednesday, a two seater training aircraft crashed close to the Gojubavi village in the Baramati taluka of Pune district. The aircraft was owned and operated by Redbird Aviation.  

Cause of the Crash

Pune’s Rural police rushed to the spot, soon after the crash and launched a probe, which is currently underway. An exact cause of the crash hasn’t been shared yet. Before the accident, the trainee pilot was conducting a training exercise.

Baramati’s History of Plane Crashes

It is worth noting that this is the second aircraft crash in Baramati this year. In January 2026, Baramati also became the site of another tragedy when a Learjet 45 aircraft coming from Mumbai crashed into an open field. It resulted in the death of then deputy CM of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar.
