Schools and colleges across Bhopal will be open tomorrow. No state-wide holiday has been declared for educational institutions in the city yet. However, parents and students are advised to check with the communication channels of school authorities for regular updates. The decision to extend the school closure or not remains with the the Bhopal District Administration. 

Bhopal Weather Update: IMD’s Weather Forecast for Tomorrow 

In its recent forecast, the  Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Bhopal. Expect thunderstorms, lightning and light to moderate rainfall. There will be a moderate likelihood of flash floods as a result. 

According to the agency, intermittent light to moderate rain showers will continue throughout the day in Bhopal, with a high probability of heavier rain spells during the morning and evening. Spells of thunderstorm and lightning will happen throughout the city as well as its surrounding areas. Cooler temperatures within the range of 23°Celsius (minimum) and 28°Celsius (maximum) will prevail.

Local authorities in Bhopal have urged the city’s residents to: 

• Avoid All Underpasses: Do not drive or walk through flooded city underpasses or low-lying waterlogged avenues.

• Stay Away from Dams: Keep a safe distance from the gates and banks of the Bhadbhada and Kaliasot reservoirs.

• Unplug Electronics: Protect your home appliances by unplugging sensitive electronic items during active lightning strikes.

• Avoid Open Wiring: Stay clear of rusted electric poles, loose hanging wires, and flooded transformers on city streets.

• Boil Drinking Water: Drink only boiled or filtered water to prevent contamination from local stormwater mixing.

• Avoid seeking shelter under trees, tin roofs, or isolated sheds during active thunderstorms.

• Keep a basic stock of all emergency supplies ready, as there is a likelihood of power cuts.
