A plane carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crashed while attempting to land at Baramati Airport early today, creating shock and concern across the region. The aircraft was arriving from Mumbai for scheduled political events of Ajit Pawar when it met with the accident during its landing approach. Initial reports say the crash happened due to an unexpected problem as the aircraft neared the runway.

Eyewitnesses at the airport described a sudden jolt as the plane touched down before veering off the runway. Emergency responders rushed to the scene immediately after the crash was reported.

Several people on board, including crew members and security personnel, sustained injuries in the crash and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials say most of the injuries are minor and no fatalities have been confirmed so far.

Medical teams at Baramati and the surrounding areas are attending to the injured passengers. Residents expressed relief that more serious casualties were averted, given the force of the crash during landing.

Ajit Pawar Plane Crash: What Led to the Crash?

Authorities have not yet released a detailed explanation of what caused the plane to crash. However, aviation experts and officials say that a technical malfunction during landing procedures remains a strong possibility and that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is expected to launch a formal investigation to determine the exact cause.

Such probes commonly review flight data, weather conditions, communication records, and aircraft maintenance logs to understand whether mechanical issues, pilot error, or environmental factors contributed to the accident.
