BRICS Summit 2026 Delhi Traffic: Delhi is preparing for a high-security weekend as World leaders and foreign delegations arrive for the BRICS Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan. For ordinary commuters, the biggest impact will be on road travel, with the Delhi Traffic Police preparing diversions, controlled corridors and temporary restrictions across several parts of the capital.
The traffic plan covers more than 35 roads and 22 diversion points. Authorities will regulate movement to facilitate the travel of VIP convoys and international delegations during the summit period from September 11 to 13. A motorcade rehearsal is also scheduled, adding to the traffic restrictions around key routes.

BRICS Summit 2026: Metro Services To Continue Normally
Despite the road restrictions, Metro services will remain operational at all stations, according to the traffic advisory. The Metro has therefore emerged as the preferred option for commuters who need to cross areas likely to experience VVIP-related traffic controls.
Bus services may face diversions when VVIP convoys pass through particular corridors. Taxis and autorickshaws may also encounter temporary route changes.
The Traffic Police have instructed taxi and autorickshaw operators not to park on roadsides except at authorised locations.
BRICS Summit 2026: Parking Rules Tightened During Summit
Commuters should also be careful about where they leave their vehicles.
Roadside parking will not be permitted on controlled routes, while parking within 200 metres of regulated roads will be prohibited. Vehicles must be parked only in authorised parking areas.
The Traffic Police has also restricted the entry of non-destined commercial vehicles into Delhi during the security arrangements.
BRICS Summit 2026: Emergency Vehicles To Get Priority
Despite the restrictions, emergency and medical vehicles will receive priority movement.
The authorities have said they will maintain obstruction-free passage for emergency services around the clock. Essential services and utility vehicles will also continue to receive access so that critical supplies and operations remain unaffected.
BRICS Summit 2026: What Delhi Commuters Should Do
