In a new development that has further inflamed tensions in Patna, newly surfaced CCTV footage captures the moment unidentified assailants targeted Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna.

In the footage, the assailants can be seen violently vandalising the education centre following the earlier gunfire incident. The grainy but clear video shows the perpetrators deliberately damaging the building’s exterior and security infrastructure.

As the video has surfaced, many have speculated that the attack was a calculated attempt to intimidate Khan Sir and his student body. Patna’s law enforcement has seized the footage as primary evidence of the attack. Senior officers have confirmed in a statement that they are using the visuals to identify the suspects. The brazen incident on Wednesday has prompted renewed calls from the student community nationwide for immediate police action to restore safety to the area.

What Happened Outside Khan Sir’s Coaching Institute in Patna?

Tensions escalated dramatically in Patna’s bustling educational district on Wednesday morning after unidentified assailants opened fire outside the renowned coaching institute led by popular educator Khan Sir.

The incident, which occurred just as hundreds of students were arriving for their morning classes, triggered a massive protest and brought the busy street near the Musallahpur Hat area to a standstill. While no injuries have been reported, the attack has sent shockwaves through the local student community, prompting heavy police deployment to maintain order.

Eyewitnesses said that they heard multiple gunshots, leading to widespread panic. As the fire discharged, the students who were preparing to attend the classes scrambled for safety.

A huge commotion was reported in the area, and a large group of agitated students gathered outside the institute, demanding immediate security for the area and the swift arrest of the perpetrators. The protest caused significant traffic disruptions. In a statement, the law enforcement officials said that they are working to clear the site and cordon off the perimeter for forensic investigation.

What Did Khan Sir Say?

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Khan Sir addressed the media. He expressed deep concern for the safety of his students and staff as he condemned the attack. He explicitly linked the incident to ongoing professional rivalries and what he described as the “persistent threats” directed at his institution by competing coaching centres in the vicinity.

“We have been receiving intimidation tactics for some time now, and this shooting is a direct outcome of the failure to address those threats,” he stated in his remarks. He further alleged that the attack was a calculated attempt to disrupt his classes and create an atmosphere of fear among students travelling to the centre from various parts of Bihar.

The educator indicated that he had previously alerted local authorities regarding a potential “blow-up” threat from rival factions.

The claims have intensified scrutiny on the highly competitive coaching industry in Patna, where the fight for market share among high-profile educators spills over into the public domain. Police officials, led by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), said that a formal investigation is underway.

“We have obtained CCTV footage from nearby establishments and are currently identifying the individuals involved,” the SSP said in a briefing to the press.

What is the Situation Now?

Patna Police had fortified the area with heavy reinforcements, including specialised units, to prevent further unrest. Officers have been stationed at key entry points to the coaching hub, and patrols have been increased across the neighbourhood. Patna’s local administration has assured students that they are taking the threat seriously and will ensure that the academic environment remains secure.

The investigation has been ordered, and the police are focusing on capturing the gunmen and unravelling the network behind the attack. The officers are currently exploring several leads, including personal enmity as well as commercial competition. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
