Chennai Power Cut August 8: Residents in parts of Chennai’s Perambur area may experience a temporary electricity disruption on Saturday, August 8, as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced a scheduled power shutdown for maintenance work.
According to the advisory issued by TANGEDCO, the power interruption has been planned to carry out essential maintenance activities aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the electricity distribution network. The utility has advised residents to plan their activities accordingly and remain updated on the restoration status.

As per the TANGEDCO notification, several locations under the Perambur Power Area will witness a temporary electricity outage on August 8.

Chennai Power Cut August 8: Earlier Power Shutdowns Reported In Chennai Areas
This is not the first scheduled power interruption reported in Chennai recently. Earlier, several areas witnessed electricity shutdowns due to maintenance work carried out by the concerned authorities.
Areas in Mudichur, including Ashtalakshmi Nagar, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Kumaran Nagar, AN Colony, Manimangalam Main Road, Shastri Nagar, and Ganeshapuram Main Road, were among the locations affected.
Several parts of St Thomas Mount also experienced power disruptions, including Ram Koil Street, Mount Poontamalli Road, Nazarethpuram, Ganapathy Colony, Vasantham Nagar, Kalaignar Nagar, Danduma Nagar, Police Quarters, Seven Hills Street, Meenambakkam, Pandian Street, Morrison 1st to 6th Street, Thiruvalluvar Nagar, MKN Road, Kumaran Nagar, Kulathumedu, Mangaliamman Koil Street, Defence Colony, Burma Colony, and Kariyar Koil Street.
