The Indian Meteorological Department issued ‘red’ and ‘orange’ alerts for several parts of Delhi and nearby regions. According to the weather department, the southwest monsoon is expected to cover the entire country in the next two to three days.Â

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for large parts of Delhi, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over the next few hours as an active monsoon system moves across northwest India.
Unsettled Weather Conditions Across Parts of Delhi-NCR
In its latest district-level nowcast, the IMD said moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers are likely across most parts of Delhi-NCR, including Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad, during the next two to three hours.

Severe waterlogging on Sohna Road near Omaxe Mall has led to major traffic congestion, significantly impacting vehicular movement on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Link Road. Water accumulation on key stretches has slowed traffic to a crawl, with long queues of vehicles reported during peak hours. Delhi police issued an advisory after part of a road sank at Narsingpur, Gurugram, on NH-48.

Following a road cave-in at Narsingpur on NH-48, Delhi Police advised commuters to expect delays, plan their journeys in advance, and use alternate routes via UER-II and the Dwarka Expressway. Massive Sinkhole Emerges in Delhi to Jaipur Route
The main carriageway on NH-48 from Delhi to Jaipur has collapsed near Narsinghpur, Gurugram, prompting traffic diversions, Gurugram Police said on Wednesday.
Commuters travelling towards Jaipur have been advised to:
- Take a left from Rajiv Chowk and use SPR Road.
- Turn left at Hero Honda Chowk and continue via SPR Road.
- Use the Dwarka Expressway as an alternate route from Delhi towards Jaipur.
