Several parts of Delhi-NCR received light rain on Tuesday morning, bringing relief from the hot and humid weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Delhi and forecast heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over the next two days. Isolated areas are likely to receive heavy showers as monsoon activity intensifies across the region.

What Is Delhi’s Weather Forecast Today?

According to the IMD, Delhi is expected to witness a generally cloudy sky along with one or two spells of light to moderate rainfall across most areas. Some places could experience heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning, along with winds of 30-40 kmph, which may gust up to 50 kmph, especially from the morning until noon. Another spell of light rain is also expected later in the day.

IMD officials said the monsoon trough has become active again due to moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal. The weather department said this change is expected to increase rainfall over Delhi and nearby regions after nearly a week of reduced monsoon activity.

Will Temperatures Drop?

Continuous cloud cover and rainfall are expected to keep daytime temperatures below normal. Safdarjung, Delhi’s main weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 31.6°C on Monday, which was nearly 7 degrees lower than Sunday’s temperature. However, humidity levels are expected to remain high.

What Is The Weather Forecast For The Next Few Days?

July 22 (Wednesday): Generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain in many places. Heavy rainfall is possible at isolated locations.
July 23 (Thursday): Cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunderstorms.
July 24 (Friday): Cloudy weather with occasional rain or thundershowers.
July 25 (Saturday): Partly cloudy sky with chances of rain.
July 26 (Sunday): Partly cloudy conditions with one or two spells of rain.

What Is The Forecast For Noida?

Noida is expected to receive its heaviest rainfall on July 21 and 22, with thunderstorms and lightning also likely. Residents may face waterlogging and traffic disruptions in some areas. Rainfall is expected to reduce between July 23 and July 26, although occasional showers may continue.

What Is The Forecast For Gurugram?

Gurugram is likely to witness heavy rainfall during the first half of the week, with waterlogging and traffic congestion expected in several areas. Rain intensity is expected to decrease after July 23, while warm and humid weather will continue.

What Is The Forecast For Ghaziabad?

Ghaziabad is also expected to receive heavy rain along with thunderstorms on July 21 and 22. From July 23 onwards, rainfall is likely to become lighter, with partly cloudy skies and occasional showers.
