Several parts of Delhi will witness scheduled power cuts on August 3 as power distribution companies (DISCOMs) carry out maintenance work to strengthen the city’s electricity network. Areas in West, East and North Delhi will experience temporary outages for several hours during the day.
Which Areas Will Face Power Cuts Today?
Power distribution companies have announced scheduled outages in several parts of Delhi to carry out maintenance work and improve the city’s electricity infrastructure.
The affected areas include Krishna Nagar, Rohini Sector 7, and Janakpuri Block B.
What Are The Power Cut Timings?
Residents in the following areas should expect electricity supply to remain suspended during these hours:
Krishna Nagar (BYPL): 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Rohini Sector 7 (TPDDL): 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Janakpuri Block B (BRPL): 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Why Is There A Scheduled Power Cut?
The maintenance work is being carried out to strengthen Delhi’s power grid before the peak demand period. Utility teams will upgrade old transformers, inspect electrical equipment and clear overhead power lines to reduce the chances of unexpected power failures and improve the reliability of electricity supply.
What Should Residents Do During The Outage?
Residents are advised to finish important tasks such as filling water tanks, charging electronic devices and operating heavy electrical appliances before the scheduled shutdown begins. People living in buildings with lifts should avoid using elevators close to the outage time. Those working from home should also keep power banks and backup devices fully charged.
How To Report A Power Cut?
If electricity is not restored after the scheduled maintenance period, residents can contact the central power helpline at 1912. Each DISCOM also provides dedicated WhatsApp complaint services for quicker assistance. Consumers should keep their Unique Service Number (USN) ready while reporting complaints to help officials track the issue faster.
