Delhi Traffic Police has issued a fresh traffic advisory after announcing the closure of a key stretch of Swami Narayan Marg due to road construction work being carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD). The affected stretch will remain closed from July 3 to August 3, while traffic diversions will be in force round the clock from July 4 to August 3, 2026. Motorists have been advised to avoid the route, use alternate roads and plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays.
Delhi Traffic Police has issued the advisory because the Public Works Department (PWD) has started C.C. road construction work on Swami Narayan Marg, between Nand Lal Marg Red Light and Shastri Nagar Red Light. Commuters are advised to avoid travelling through this route to prevent delays and congestion. To ensure traffic moves smoothly during the construction period, 24 hour traffic diversions will remain in place from July 4 to August 3. In a post on X, Delhi Traffic Police said that special traffic arrangements have been made to manage vehicle movement during the road work.

What Are The Traffic Diversions?
As part of the traffic diversion plan, vehicles travelling from Chowki No. 2 towards Shastri Nagar via Swami Narayan Marg will be diverted through Nand Lal Marg and Veer Banda Bairagi Marg. Delhi Traffic Police personnel will remain deployed at key points to regulate traffic and assist commuters throughout the diversion period.
