Delhi Weather Update (July 13, 2026): Last week, Delhi experienced stormy weather, which led to waterlogged roads, traffic disruptions and a much needed temperature drop. Now, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that hot weather will prevail in the national capital again.
Delhi Weather Update: IMD’s Recent Forecast
Delhi experienced sunshine and high humidity yesterday after a monsoon spell brought a refreshing respite from the intense heatwave. The conditions were similar to what Delhiites experienced during last month’s heatwave.
Now, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued no weather alert for Delhi NCR, which indicates that there will not be any extreme weather this week. Expect partly cloudy skies, high temperatures and strong surface winds reaching up to 40 kmh.
Delhi Weather Update: Will Heatwave Return?
Many Delhiites are wondering whether the current conditions hint at a return of the heatwave. However, the IMD has clearly ruled that out. “No significant Heatwave conditions are likely over any part of the country ”, the IMD stated in its recent forecast.

Over the next 6 days, Delhi’s weather will be consistent. Hot and humid conditions with temperatures beyond 40 °Celsius will prevail. The humidity level will hover above 60% (minimum). But there is also a slight possibility of ‘scattered rainstorms’. The highest likelihood of rain is on 18th July 2026 (38%) over the next 6 days.

Delhi Weather Update: AQI Level
The current AQI level in Delhi is 261, which is considered to be ‘poor’ (the range of 0-50 is designated good). This decline in air quality can be attributed to long-range transnational winds carrying mineral dust from storm activity in Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan . And according to the IMD, the air quality level will linger between the ‘poor’ and ‘moderate’ categories over the next 6 days.
