The recent NEET UG paper leak controversy has gripped the entire nation. From heated news debates to social media handles, people across India are protesting against the government for mishandling the country’s largest medical entrance test. The unrest does not stop there; following the release of the CBSE Class 12 results, students raised serious concerns about low percentages, blaming the newly introduced On-Screen Marking system.

However, this widespread criticism triggered a clash between Aaj Tak anchor Anjana Om Kashyap and popular YouTube educators. The senior anchor attacked online tutors, claiming that these explainers run their platforms like commercial businesses while positioning themselves as experts on broader political and social issues.

What Led to the Fight

Following the NEET UG 2026 paper leak allegations, Kashyap argued that several popular YouTube-based teachers lack sufficient knowledge on crucial matters, yet position themselves as authoritative voices on issues like the NEET entrance examination, CBSE OSM, and exam delays. She claimed that these digital creators rely heavily on scripts, slick editing, retakes, and algorithm-driven packaging to garner millions of views through sensationalized titles, despite lacking deep journalistic or policy insights.

YouTube Educators Slam Aaj Tak Anchor

Kashyap’s comments backfired heavily, triggering severe criticism from students, educators, and social media users. Several prominent digital educators hit back, including mathematics educator Abhinay Sharma. In his response, Sharma dismissed her comments and warned that if online teachers asked their students to flood her social media handles with criticism, the backlash would be overwhelming for her to handle.

Another highly popular educator, Khan Sir, also condemned Kashyap’s remarks. He stated that teachers work incredibly hard to earn their living honestly, which is why they are not afraid to speak out and criticize systemic failures openly. He added that journalists targeting teachers should evaluate their own profession perfectly before pointing fingers at educators who are simply doing their jobs.

Overlapping Controversies: NEET UG 2026, CBSE Re-evaluation, and CUET Delays

These controversies surrounding major national exams including the NEET paper leak, CUET exam cancellations, and CBSE’s OSM system have pushed the country into a crisis. Students and teachers are openly protesting against the government for failing to conduct exams fairly despite its tall claims. Regarding the CBSE OSM row, students pointed to a sudden drop in Class 12 percentages as proof of systemic failure. Furthermore, ethical hackers alleged that the procurement of the CBSE OSM system was deeply flawed. In response to the growing backlash, the government transferred CBSE Chairman Rahul Singh and Secretary Himanshu Gupta, and constituted a one-member committee to investigate the procurement and deployment process of the OSM system.
