Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, but as of now, no casualties or structural damage have been officially confirmed.

The over 5 magnitude earthquake served as a reminder of the seismic vulnerability of eastern India and Bangladesh. Although no major damage has been reported, the incident underscores the importance of earthquake preparedness and awareness in urban areas like Kolkata.
