EPFO 3.0 Update: Step-by-Step Guide to Remove Duplicate EPFO Account
Step 1: Activate Your UAN
You have to visit unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in and ensure your UAN is activated and linked with your Aadhaar and mobile number.
Step 2: Log In to Member Portal
Log in using your UAN and password.
Step 3: Check Multiple Member IDs
Go to ‘Service History’ under the ‘View’ section to see all linked Member IDs.
Step 4: Initiate Online Transfer
Click on ‘Online Services’, ‘One Member, One EPF Account (Transfer Request)’.
Step 5: Verify Details
You are required to confirm your personal and employment details. Choose either your previous or current employer for attestation.
Step 6: Submit Request
Authenticate using OTP sent to your registered mobile number and submit the request.
Important Things to Remember
- A few KYC details (Aadhaar, PAN, bank account) must go through the verification process.
- If you have two UANs that were generated, inform EPFO through the grievance portal to deactivate one.
- You can monitor the transfer status by checking ‘Track Claim Status’.
