A fresh wave of bomb threat emails sent shockwaves through Delhi on Monday morning, forcing several prominent schools to evacuate students and suspend normal activities. Authorities immediately activated emergency protocols after schools reported suspicious emails warning of possible explosions.
Police teams, fire officials, and bomb disposal squads rushed to campuses to secure the premises and reassure parents and staff. Officials said the threats triggered a high-alert situation across the national capital as authorities worked to prevent panic and ensure safety.
At least nine well-known schools reportedly received threatening emails between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. These included Loreto Convent in Delhi Cantonment, Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini, Cambridge School’s Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony campuses, The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, CM Shri School in Rohini, DTEA School in INA, Bal Bharti School in Rohini, and Manav Sthali School in New Rajinder Nagar.
School authorities quickly informed law enforcement agencies, which ordered immediate evacuation procedures to protect students and staff. Emergency teams then began detailed searches of classrooms, playgrounds, and surrounding areas.
Delhi Police deployed multiple specialised units, including bomb detection squads and fire department personnel, to carry out thorough inspections. Authorities emphasised that evacuation drills and safety checks followed standard protocols designed for such threats.
Students were moved to safe locations while search operations continued. Security agencies maintained a strong presence around the affected institutions to prevent panic and maintain order during the investigation.
The threatening message accessed by India Today stated: "Delhi will become Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru. There will be an explosion at 1:11 pm."
The email, signed 'Khalistan National Army', also warned of an attack on Parliament later this week. "There will be a blast in Parliament on February 13th at 1:11 pm. Punjab is Khalistan," it read.
Officials said the incident reflects a worrying trend of repeated hoax threats targeting schools and public institutions across Delhi and other major cities. Similar incidents in recent weeks led to large-scale evacuations but were later declared false alarms after thorough searches.
Earlier threats forced multiple schools to cancel classes and triggered security checks, stretching emergency services and creating anxiety among parents and administrators. Investigators continue to track the origin of these emails and have warned that those responsible will face strict legal action.
Authorities are analysing digital evidence and coordinating with cyber experts to trace the source of the threatening messages. Meanwhile, police have appealed for calm and urged the public to avoid spreading rumours on social media.
Search operations remained ongoing at several schools at the time of reporting, and officials said they would provide further updates after completing security checks. The latest scare highlights the growing challenge posed by hoax threats and the need for stronger digital surveillance and preventive measures in educational institutions.
