The Indian Army’s Himalayan Brigade organised a grand Ex-Servicemen Rally in Baramulla, honouring veterans, Veer Naris and strengthening welfare outreach.
A special moment of the rally was the felicitation of Veer Naris, Veer Matas and Gallantry awardees, honouring their sacrifice and invaluable contribution to national security.
Srinagar: The Himalayan Brigade under the aegis of the Dagger Division organised a grand Ex-Servicemen Rally in Baramulla on Wednesday, bringing together over 330 Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents from across the district. The event was a celebration of service, sacrifice, and continued commitment to the welfare of the armed forces community.
The rally saw enthusiastic participation from veterans residing in Baramulla, Pattan, Uri, Tangmarg, Rafiabad, Boniyar, Rohama, and Sopore tehsils. Major General Manoj Joshi, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, accompanied by senior military officials and civil dignitaries.
The event commenced with a vibrant cultural performance by the local band ‘Strings of Baramulla’, setting the tone for the day. This was followed by informative sessions led by welfare organisations including ECHS, Zila Sainik Board, and Directorate of Resettlement Zone (North), who highlighted various welfare schemes and benefits available to veterans and their families.
A special moment of the rally was the felicitation of Veer Naris, Veer Matas and Gallantry awardees, honouring their sacrifice and invaluable contribution to national security. Grievance Redressal counters were established to resolve issues related to pensions, documentation, and property disputes, with officials assuring timely action.
Stalls by banks and recruiting firms were also set up, offering guidance on employment opportunities and financial schemes for veterans. The interaction between veterans and officials further reinforced the bond between serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and the civil administration.
The event concluded with a community lunch, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and unity. The Indian Army reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the welfare and support of the veteran community.
