NTA announces JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results with 12 students scoring perfect 100 percentile; check list of toppers, participation data and next steps.

Twelve candidates stood out by securing a perfect 100 NTA score (percentile) in Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), placing them at the top of the results list.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on February 16, 2026, declared the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results, naming toppers and releasing detailed performance data for the first major engineering entrance exam of the year. Out of 13,55,293 registered candidates, 13,04,653 appeared, marking a 96.26 % attendance rate, the agency said. The results include a full list of students who achieved a perfect 100th percentile score in Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), as well as insights into participation and state-wise performance.
The JEE Main exam, a key gateway to prestigious engineering institutions such as Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other top colleges, was conducted online across multiple shifts and in 13 languages, both in India and at select overseas centres.
Twelve candidates stood out by securing a perfect 100 NTA score (percentile) in Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), placing them at the top of the results list. These standout performers come from various parts of India, reflecting the high level of competition and preparation among aspirants.

Rajasthan recorded the highest number of top scorers in this session, with three students making the perfect percentile list.
The NTA’s official data shows broad participation from different regions and categories. Out of the 13,55,293 registered candidates, 13,04,653 students appeared in the Session 1 Paper 1 exam. This strong turnout reflects intense competition and widespread interest in engineering careers.
The exam was held in a computer-based format across several shifts between January 21 and January 29, offering flexibility and accessibility to examinees. The result declaration marks a major milestone in the academic calendar for engineering aspirants.
Along with the overall results, the NTA also published category-wise and gender-based performance details, revealing trends in participation from different parts of the country. While the perfect 100th percentile list featured male candidates exclusively this session, female aspirants performed strongly, with some coming close to the top marks.
These insights help educators and students alike understand broader performance patterns and plan for future attempts, especially as many candidates will now prepare for the JEE Main April 2026 session or the next stage of engineering admissions.
After Session 1 results, students can download their scorecards through the official JEE Main website by logging in with their credentials. The NTA also released the final answer keys, which include any adjustments to ensure fairness across all shifts.
Final rankings for the year will be prepared by considering the best scores from both Session 1 and Session 2, following the existing policy. This allows candidates to improve their overall performance by appearing in both sessions.
Those who scored a perfect percentile are now eligible to compete for top ranks and places in prestigious engineering institutes, including IITs and NITs, and will be closely watching the announcement of results from the upcoming session.
Candidates can access their results and detailed scorecards from the official JEE Main result portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in and related authorised sites. The scorecard shows the candidate’s percentile, paper details, qualifying status, and subject-wise performance — key information needed for college admissions and counselling.
With the result now declared, thousands of students are taking the next step toward engineering careers, while others plan to take the Session 2 exam in April to boost their chances further.
