3 terrorists, including JeM commander Saifullah, killed in Kishtwar encounter, highlighting India’s counter-terror success in Jammu and Kashmir.

Operation Trashi‑I: 3 terrorists, including a top JeM commander, neutralised in Kishtwar, reinforcing India’s vigilance and security efforts in J&K.
J&K Security Update: In a major counter-terror operation, 3 terrorists, including a JeM commander, were killed in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir during Operation Trashi‑I, conducted by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps in coordination with J&K Police and CRPF. Among the slain militants is suspected JeM commander Saifullah, who had been active in the region for nearly five years. Security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the site, while the encounter underscores India’s ongoing efforts to curb infiltration and militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The security forces conducted an operation in the Passerkut area of the Chatroo belt after receiving trustworthy information that indicated that three terrorists, including JeM operatives, were present in the area. The mission aimed to eliminate the threat that armed militants presented while they concealed themselves within the forested terrain.
The militants were reportedly hiding in a mud house. The JeM commander and two terrorists began shooting at the approaching troops, which resulted in an intense firefight. The clash resulted in a building fire, which created circumstances that made it impossible to identify the three militant corpses.
Saifullah, a prominent JeM commander, died in the conflict after he entered India approximately five years ago. He is wanted for planning multiple assaults against Indian security forces, which included a July 2024 attack that resulted in four soldier fatalities.
The security forces collected two AK‑47 rifles together with additional ammunition from the scene, which proved that the militants had readied themselves for battle, while the operation succeeded through intelligence-based operations.
The encounter demonstrates India’s continued vigilance and coordination among military and law enforcement agencies in Jammu and Kashmir. This led to reinforcing efforts to maintain security in conflict-prone areas. Neutralising 3 terrorists, including a top JeM commander, has marked a significant tactical success. This also represents a strong message against terrorist activities in the region.
