Police say Siya Goyal, the fiancee of Ketan Agarwal, and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary allegedly planned Ketan’s murder for nearly seven months before pushing him off the fort and trying to make it look like an accident. The investigation has become even more disturbing after police reportedly found that Siya had searched for details of the high profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case to understand how such crimes are carried out and how to avoid getting caught. According to police, Siya and Chetan allegedly spent six to seven months planning the murder. Investigators believe they deliberately avoided using weapons because knives or other sharp objects could leave bloodstains and forensic evidence. Instead, they allegedly decided to push Ketan off Lohagad Fort and make it appear as an accidental fall.
Initially, police also believed it was an accident because there was no clear evidence at the spot. The breakthrough came only after investigators analysed mobile phone data, deleted chats, location records and internet search history, which eventually pointed towards the accused.

According to an NDTV report quoting police officials, the browsing history recovered from Siya’s phone showed that she had searched for details related to the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. Raja Raghuvanshi was allegedly pushed off a cliff during his honeymoon in Meghalaya on the instructions of his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi. Investigators believe Siya studied that case while planning Ketan’s murder. Police also found searches about whether women are beaten in police custody and what legal rights female prisoners have, suggesting she may have been preparing herself for the possibility of arrest.
Police believe Siya may have tried to avoid the mistakes allegedly made in the Raja Raghuvanshi case. Investigators say one important difference was that Siya allegedly involved Chetan directly in pushing Ketan off the cliff. Police believe she may not have been physically strong enough to carry out the act alone, so Chetan’s involvement allegedly ensured the plan worked. According to investigators, this also reduced the chances of the victim surviving or the murder attempt failing.
An officer involved in the investigation told NDTV that the murder was allegedly the result of careful planning influenced by Siya’s personal relationship with Chetan and family related pressures. Police claim the accused not only planned the murder but also tried to create alibis that would help them avoid suspicion and escape punishment. Investigators also said that neither Siya nor Chetan has shown remorse during questioning so far, which has become an important part of the ongoing investigation.

Raja Raghuvanshi’s mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, has compared Siya Goyal to Sonam Raghuvanshi, calling her a “mini Sonam.” She said both women appeared to show similar behaviour and a lack of remorse after the alleged crimes. Uma Raghuvanshi also expressed concern about the ongoing trial in her son’s case, saying that if Sonam were granted bail, it could send the wrong message and encourage similar crimes in the future.
Police have now sent another mobile phone recovered from the Goyal family’s house for forensic examination. Investigators hope the device will reveal more details about how the murder was planned and whether there were additional conversations or evidence that has not yet been recovered. Officials believe the first phone already helped solve what initially appeared to be an accidental death, and the second phone could further strengthen the case by revealing more details about the alleged conspiracy.
