On Tuesday, there were gunshots fired outside Educator Khan Sir’s coaching center in Patna, close to Musallahpur Haat. According to police, a security guard was admitted to a hospital after suffering injuries in the incident. Patna SSP, SP, and other police squads arrived at the scene after the gunshot incident. Khan Sir believed that the firing incident might have involved a rival coaching center.

What Happened Here?

As per Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya K. Sharma, the injured guard’s statement is likely to be really important for the probe, he said. Sharma added that the issue relates to physical assault as well as injury, and that police are now recording statements from both the victim, and the nearby witnesses. He also said strict action will be taken against whoever is found connected with the incident, regardless. Even though there were no deaths reported, the firing nonetheless has opened up serious doubts around security, especially in the crowded Musallahpur Haat area, where there are quite a few coaching institutes, and thousands of students who are pushing themselves daily for competitive exams.

What Did Khan Sir Say? Watch

Khan Sir, who runs a coaching institute that pulls in quite a lot of students because of its affordable fee structure, alleged that the attack might be connected to rivalry among coaching centres functioning in the same area. When he spoke to the media, he said that some competitors seemed unhappy with how well his institute is doing, and also because his fees are low for students. In his view, giving quality education at rates that are not heavy on the pocket had unsettled certain vested interests.

He added that the attackers didn’t just open fire, they also vandalised the office premises of his institute, kind of openly. Further, Khan Sir said that the CCTV footage showing the incident had already been shared with the law enforcement agencies so they can investigate.

Any Names On Suspect List?

Khan sir also stated that the injured security guard had mentioned a few names, and that he linked the alleged attackers to a nearby coaching institute, as if it’s connected somehow. Khan Sir mentioned that threats against his coaching centre had already happened before too, and he basically urged the administration to arrange proper security not only the usual, minimal basic things.

Police Investigation On

Khan Sir also stressed that students from economically weaker backgrounds should be able to get affordable education, so there needs to be stronger protection from anti social elements who try to intimidate educational places. On the other side, police have started a detailed investigation into the case from every angle, including the thought that the operators could be fighting among themselves, perhaps over students or over influence. Officials are now reviewing the evidence along with witness accounts, so they can understand the motive first, and then make sure the people responsible are taken to justice .
