A court in Patna has granted anticipatory bail to educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in connection with the coaching institute firing case. The court also granted anticipatory bail to three staff members, while two security guards arrested in the case were released on bail.

The case is linked to a firing incident that took place in early June after a group of miscreants allegedly vandalised Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna. Following the incident, Khan Sir’s two security guards allegedly opened fire, leading to the registration of an FIR in which the educator was also named. On Monday, a Patna court granted anticipatory bail to Khan Sir. The court also granted anticipatory bail to three employees of his coaching institute. In a separate order, the Patna Civil Court granted regular bail to the two security guards, who had been arrested in connection with the case.

What Did Khan Sir’s Lawyer Say?

Khan Sir’s lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mouar, confirmed that six people received relief from the court. According to him, the judge first granted anticipatory bail to Khan Sir, followed by bail for the three staff members. The two security guards also received bail from the Patna Civil Court.

“Six people have been granted bail. The judge first announced Khan Sir’s anticipatory bail, followed by that of his three staff members,” lawyer Arvind Kumar Mouar told reporters. “During the hearing on Tuesday, the court sought details of the arms licenses of both security guards of Khan,” said Satyam Jha, the lawyer of Khan’s rival Roshan Anand. “The matter has been listed for arguments on July 3, and the ‘no coercive action’ order against Khan will remain in force till then,” he added.

What Happened During Earlier Hearings?

The court had earlier reserved its order on Khan Sir’s anticipatory bail plea after hearing arguments from both sides. Before Monday’s order, the court had repeatedly extended protection from arrest granted to Khan Sir while the case was being heard. During an earlier hearing, the court had also sought details of the arms licences held by the two security guards.

What Is The Case About?

Police are investigating the firing incident that followed the alleged attack and vandalism at Khan Sir’s coaching institute. The case focuses on whether the security guards’ use of firearms during the incident was justified and the role of those named in the FIR. The investigation is continuing.
