New Delhi: In a major crackdown on organised crime, the Delhi Police on Sunday (July 12) arrested three alleged shooters linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. According to officials, the Rohini District Special Staff received specific intelligence about the movement of the suspects and launched a surveillance operation. Acting on the tip off, the police tracked down the accused and arrested them before they could carry out their alleged plan.

What were the shooters allegedly planning?

Police said the three accused were allegedly planning a targeted killing when they were intercepted. Investigators claim the suspects were receiving instructions through an overseas-based network that was allegedly directing the planned attack. Officials also said the accused are wanted in multiple criminal cases registered in Delhi and have allegedly been involved in previous targeted shootings. Further investigation is underway to identify others linked to the network and verify the full extent of the alleged conspiracy.

What is ‘Operation Hard Ball’?

The arrests come amid a broader crackdown on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s network, including action in the United States. The FBI has been conducting ‘Operation Hard Ball’ since July 7 to target the gang’s alleged international operations. The investigation also focuses on Bishnoi’s associates, including Goldy Brar and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. The FBI has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Satinderjit Singh, alias Goldy Brar, who is wanted in connection with several criminal investigations.

Who is Lawrence Bishnoi?

Lawrence Bishnoi is one of the jailed gangsters who has been alleged to be linked to several criminal cases, including allegations of murder, extortion and organised crime. Moreover, he has also been accused of masterminding the killing of famous Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu MooseWala. Although Bishnoi is currently in jail, law enforcement agencies have repeatedly alleged that he continues to run his criminal network through associates operating in India and abroad. As per the latest update, arrests are being seen as part of the ongoing efforts by Indian and international agencies to dismantle the gang’s network and curb its criminal activities. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
