Manipur Earthquake Today: An earthquake of moderate magnitude hit some regions of Manipur early on Tuesday morning, as residents had to vacate their homes following the occurrence of tremors which disrupted sleep, leading to chaos in the affected region. The quake registered a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale and hit the region at 5:59 AM on April 21. The epicenter of the earthquake was reported from Kamjong district of Manipur.
Manipur Earthquake Today: 62 km Depth Makes It a Mid-Level Seismic Event
As per the NCS report, the earthquake took place at a depth of around 62 kilometers below the earth’s surface. The type of earthquake is called an intermediate depth earthquake, which usually impacts a larger geographical area compared to shallow earthquakes, and the damages inflicted by such earthquakes are lesser than that of shallow earthquakes.

Although the earthquake was quite strong and even disturbed people in their sleep, there are no reports of deaths or injuries yet.
