Two heartbreaking incidents in Uttar Pradesh have shocked communities and raised fresh concerns about mental health and family stress. In Mathura district, five members of a family were discovered dead inside their home, while in a separate high-rise tragedy, three teenage sisters lost their lives after falling from a residential tower. Police are investigating both cases, which have left neighbours, relatives, and officials searching for answers.

Mathura Mass Suicide: What Happened In Mathura’s Khapparpur Village?

Police discovered the bodies of a farmer, his wife, and their three young children inside a locked room in Khapparpur village on Tuesday morning. Authorities suspect a mass suicide, though investigators continue to examine evidence.

Officers also recovered a suicide note, a message written on a wall, and a video reportedly recorded by the family’s patriarch. Officials said they have not yet disclosed details from these materials as they verify their authenticity and context.

The deceased has been identified as Manish Kumar (35), a farmer, his wife aged around 32, and their three minor children -two daughters and a son, Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said. “They were found dead inside a room of their house,” he added.

Mathura Mass Suicide: How Were The Bodies Discovered?

According to police, a relative grew worried when the children did not come outside to play in the morning. The family’s home remained locked from the inside, prompting concern among neighbours and relatives.

Manish Kumar’s brother alerted them about the police. When the children didn’t come out in the morning to play, Manish’s brother went inside the house after jumping the wall and broke open the door, and found his family members dead.

Authorities later sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations and began a detailed investigation to understand what led to the tragedy.

High-Rise Sisters’ Death: What Happened In The Midnight Incident?

In a separate tragedy, residents of a high-rise society were awakened by a loud crash followed by screams around 2 am. People rushed outside and discovered three teenage sisters — aged 11, 14, and 16 years — lying motionless after falling from the ninth floor.

Police are treating the case as an apparent triple suicide, though they continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the fall.

Eyewitness Account And Ongoing Investigation

One resident of an adjacent tower told HT that he witnessed the final moments of what police are treating as an apparent triple suicide. Arun Kumar, who lives on the 10th floor of Tower A4, said he was on his balcony recording content for social media when he noticed unusual movement in a flat across from him.
Authorities are now examining CCTV footage, digital evidence, and family backgrounds to determine whether domestic disputes or other pressures contributed to the incident.

Mental Health Concerns And Public Reaction

Both tragedies have sparked intense debate about emotional stress, family pressures, and the need for mental health awareness. Officials urge families to seek support during difficult times and encourage communities to remain vigilant for signs of distress among children and adults alike.
Investigations remain ongoing in both cases as police await post-mortem results and forensic analysis to establish a clearer picture of events.
