On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Mexico has confirmed that it has killed Nemesio Oseguera, commonly known as El Mencho, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. He was one of the most wanted criminals in Mexico and the United States, and his death has triggered extensive security operations in various states.
Indian Embassy Issued Advisory: Areas of Concern for Indian Citizens
Because of the ongoing military activities and roadblocks, the Indian Embassy has advised its citizens to remain in secure areas in the following regions:
