The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to declare the NEET UG 2026 re-exam result by July 20, paving the way for the undergraduate medical admission process. Before announcing the results, the agency will release the final answer key after reviewing objections submitted by candidates. The re-examination was conducted on June 21 after the original exam held on May 3 was cancelled due to an alleged paper leak.
Before releasing the results, NTA will publish the final answer key, which will be used to calculate candidates scores. The provisional answer key was released in the last week of June, and candidates were allowed to raise objections until June 28. According to officials, nearly 10,000 objections have been received and are currently being reviewed by subject experts.
When Will NEET UG Counselling 2026 Begin?
The NEET UG counselling process is expected to start soon after the declaration of the re-exam results. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling for:
•   15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
•   AIIMS
•   JIPMER
•   Central Universities
•   Deemed Universities
•   Other participating institutions
Meanwhile, the remaining 85% state quota seats will be filled through counselling conducted by individual state authorities. The official counselling schedule has not been released yet and is expected shortly after the results.
