India is ready to present its progress, rich culture, and defence strength during the 77th Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026, at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The parade will feature newly formed military units and models of key weapon systems that were used during Operation Sindoor.

Republic Day Parade Schedule
The parade will start at 10:30 am. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first pay homage to the martyrs at the National War Memorial. After that, he will move to the saluting base to join other dignitaries for the main ceremony.
Chief Guests at 77th Republic Day
The event will host two prominent international leaders as chief guests — Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
Republic Day 2026: Security Tightened Across India
Authorities have strengthened security arrangements across the country. Officials said the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) received intelligence about possible threats from “anti-national elements”, leading to extra vigilance, especially along the India–Nepal border.
Delhi-NCR remains on high alert, and security forces have carried out vehicle inspections in Jammu and Kashmir as a precaution.
Delhi Traffic Advisory for January 26
Delhi Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory due to the parade. Several key roads in central Delhi will remain closed or diverted. The parade route will begin at Vijay Chowk, move along Kartavya Path, pass India Gate, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhash Marg, and end at the Red Fort.
Traffic restrictions will start early in the morning. Important stretches such as C-Hexagon and nearby connecting roads will be closed to private and general vehicles during the event.
Republic Day 2026: Bharat Parv Festival
Alongside the national celebrations, the government will organise the six-day Bharat Parv festival at the Red Fort lawns starting January 26. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will inaugurate the cultural and tourism festival.
