PM Modi to inaugurate NXT Summit, CJI Surya Kant among speakers; 120+ global leaders to attend

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will headline the NXT Summit 2026 in New Delhi on 12 March, where he will inaugurate the Bharat Progress Report and deliver the chief guest’s address at the three-day leadership forum bringing together political leaders, diplomats, scientists and business executives from across the world.

The three-day summit, organised under the NXT initiative of ITV Network in association with the Sunday Guardian Foundation and NewsX, will be held at Bharat Mandapam and will also feature an address by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, who will share his views on the evolving interface between law, governance and emerging technologies. 

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to deliver the chief guest’s address outlining India’s vision on technology, governance and global cooperation in a much-anticipated address.

At the inaugural edition of the summit last year, Modi highlighted India’s growing global influence and the increasing international interest in the country’s digital public infrastructure such as UPI and the India Stack ecosystem. He had also called on Indian businesses and innovators to take domestic technologies and products to global markets as part of India’s expanding global economic footprint.

The summit will bring together several senior members of the Union government including Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Jitendra Singh, Manohar Lal Khattar and Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Political leaders from across India participating in the discussions include Nayab Singh Saini, Vivek Tankha, Nishikant Dubey, Manish Tewari and Shashi Tharoor, while foreign policy discussions will involve Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

Politicians and diplomats from more than 25 countries including Bhutan, Sweden, New Zealand, Norway, Sri Lanka, Australia, Nepal, the United Kingdom, Mauritius, the Maldives, Estonia, Laos, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Ireland, Argentina, France, Chile, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Oman and Germany will take part in discussions spread across multiple sessions during the three-day summit, making it one of India’s most expansive gatherings of global political leaders and policy thinkers. More than 125 prominent political leaders, diplomats, scientists, industry executives and policy experts from around the world will be participating in the deliberations.

Prominent international political figures participating in the summit include Scott Morrison, who served as Australia’s prime minister from 2018 to 2022; Fredrik Reinfeldt, who led the Swedish government from 2006 to 2014; and Baburam Bhattarai, an economist who served as Nepal’s prime minister from 2011 to 2013.

Lawmakers from several countries will also participate, including Dan Carden, the Labour Party MP representing Liverpool Walton; Rachel Brooking, representing the Dunedin electorate; Ville Skinnari and former Finnish minister for development cooperation and foreign trade; Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and former governor of Gombe State; Darren Bergman; Marcela Guerra Castillo; Maria del Carmen Alva Prieto and former president of the Peruvian Congress; Enrique Martín Goerling Lara; and Sergio Capozzi.

The summit will also see participation from senior diplomats representing key international partners of India, including Philipp Ackermann; Philip Green; Antonio Bartoli; Mahishini Colonne; Reuven Azar; and Hervé Delphin.

Among the international policy experts and global voices participating are Bhikhu Parekh and Marc J. Sievers.

The summit will also feature leading scientists and technology experts, including Ajay Kumar Sood, Scott Kelly and Sunil K. Agrawal, along with members of India’s Gaganyaan astronaut corps preparing for the country’s first human spaceflight mission.

Industry leaders scheduled to participate include Anil Agarwal of Vedanta Resources Limited, C. S. Setty of State Bank of India, Ashok Chandra of Punjab National Bank, and R. Doraiswamy of Life Insurance Corporation of India.

The NXT initiative was launched by Rajya Sabha member Kartikeya Sharma, while the summit is organised in association with the Sunday Guardian Foundation chaired by Aishwarya Pandit Sharma. The forum aims to provide a platform for dialogue on governance, technology and economic transformation while highlighting India’s development model and its expanding role in shaping global debates on innovation, policy and international cooperation.
