The initial trends reported the BJP to be leading in 90 wards, leaving their competitors far behind. The Nationalist Congress Party, which is perceived to be strong in the Pune area, is trailing with leads in 20 wards.

The elections to the PMC were held on January 15, 2026, to choose councillors for all 165 seats in Pune’s civic body. Voter turnout in the city remained moderate with a range of 52 and 55 per cent, somewhat lower compared to the earlier municipal elections.
