Rajasthan School Holiday Today: The schools in Rajasthan are not going to remain closed on Monday, August 10, 2026, since it has not been declared as a holiday at the state level. However, the state may have to suspend school activities due to weather reasons. According to IMD, there will be very heavy rainfall in East Rajasthan on August 10. There will be also thunderstorms and lightning in East Rajasthan and thunderstorms and lightning in West Rajasthan on August 10.

Are Rajasthan Schools Closed Today, August 10?

There is no statewide school holiday scheduled for August 10 in Rajasthan’s 2026-27 Shivira Panchang. The calendar shows August as having one regular holiday, with Raksha Bandhan observed on August 28.

Therefore, students should not assume that schools across Rajasthan are closed today. Individual schools or district administrations can, however, announce separate closures if local conditions require them.

Parents should check their child’s school communication, especially in districts experiencing heavy rainfall, waterlogging or thunderstorms.

Why Is There Confusion About The August 10 Holiday?

Some online holiday listings have incorrectly or inconsistently associated August 10 with Raksha Bandhan. The current Rajasthan school calendar identifies August 28 as the Raksha Bandhan holiday. Independent holiday references and Panchang information also place Raksha Bandhan on Friday, August 28, 2026.

This means August 10 should not be described as a statewide Raksha Bandhan holiday for Rajasthan schools.

Rajasthan Weather Today: What Has IMD Forecast?

Weather is a key factor for students travelling to school today. The IMD’s Jaipur Meteorological Centre has forecast an increase in rainfall activity across south-eastern and eastern Rajasthan from August 10 to 12, with moderate to locally heavy rain possible in some areas.

The latest warning is particularly significant for East Rajasthan. IMD has issued a very heavy rain warning for August 10, along with thunderstorms, lightning and squally winds. For August 11, East Rajasthan remains under a very heavy rain warning, while heavy rain is forecast for August 12.

The IMD’s state forecast identifies Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota and Udaipur divisions among the areas where rain is expected at several places on August 10. Parts of the Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions may also receive rain at some places.

Could Rain Lead To School Closures In Rajasthan?

Heavy rainfall does not automatically mean that every school in Rajasthan will close. School closures due to extreme weather are generally dependent on local conditions and orders issued by the concerned district administration.

If a district collector or education authority announces a closure because of flooding, waterlogging, lightning or other safety concerns, schools in the affected area must follow that local order. Parents should therefore distinguish between a scheduled statewide holiday and a district-level weather closure.

What Should Rajasthan Parents Check Today?

The parents and students are advised to see the message from the school authorities and also look out for any notification for the closure of the school issued by the district administration before leaving for school. The IMD warnings for rainfall and thunderstorms should be watched out for along with the weather conditions prevailing in the waterlogged areas.
