Delhi Metro issues Republic Day 2026 travel advisory with special timings, station closures, free rides and safety instructions for commuters.

On Monday (January 26) Republic Day 2026 in Delhi gears up for a day of mega national celebrations. While thousands thronged the main parade along Kartavya Path, along with flag-hoisting events and a plethora of cultural events, public transportation, especially the Delhi Metro, becomes a lifeline for those traveling to the celebrations. Taking note of this, DMRC issued elaborate advisories in order to make travel smooth and safe under increased security cover.
Passengers are advised to plan ahead of time while they travel, due to an increase in security checks that will cover all Metro stations in Delhi. The authorities are asking passengers to plan ahead of time, cooperate and follow instructions at each station during the security checks.
Its operating hours begin at 3:00 AM and metro services shall run at intervals of every 15 minutes until 6:00 AM. This early morning service is intended to help dodge the last-minute rush before the republic day parade.
In a special arrangement to provide facility to Republic Day passengers, the DMRC is allowing complimentary Metro rides to those have official invitations to the parade and other related events. The passengers need to produce proper passes to the DMRC authorities at the entry points.
