Twisha Sharma Death Latest Update: The case of Twisha Sharma’s death has taken the country by storm. Now, as per the latest reports, the post mortem has confirmed that the former Miss Pune died from hanging, not murder, despite previous reports and foul play allegations. 

Inside the Twisha Sharma Death Case: An Overview

Twisha Sharma was a 31 year old model and actress, who hailed from Noida. She met lawyer Samarth Singh on a dating app in 2024 and fell in love. Subsequently, the two got married in December 2025. But barely five months later, Twisha was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal.

The New Post Mortem Findings: Death Was From Hanging 

Now, as per the latest reports, the recent post mortem report has confirmed that Twisha Sharma died from hanging, not murder. According to the report, her official cause of death was antemortem hanging by ligature. 

The report was from AIIMS Bhopal and mentioned “double reddish patterned ligature marks” around her neck with skin that was dry and hard. It also specified that the ligature marks around the back of her neck were incomplete, a common sign in death by hanging cases. 

The previous autopsy report hinted that she might have been murdered, with signs like a missing belt and a forced abortion, performed roughly a week before her death.

Family’s Allegations: Abuse and Dowry Harassment 

Twisha Sharma’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, and her brother, Major Harshit Sharma, have both protested the suicide narrative around her death. Both men protested outside the residence of MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal and claimed that they wouldn’t perform her last rites until a second autopsy is conducted. 

Twisha’s family has accused her in laws of subjecting her to emotional torture, extortion and dowry harassment. They have also claimed that she was coerced into getting the abortion by her laws, who stated that the baby was illegitimate. Navnidhi Sharma recently requested that the legal proceedings of the case get shifted from Bhopal to Delhi, so that there is no tampering of evidence.     

Twisha Sharma Death: Evidence & Suspects 

The key pieces of evidence in Twisha Sharma’s death case include: 

  • A missing nylon belt that was used for hanging 

  • Chats with her family and friends that indicated she was under distress

  • Multiple blunt force injuries on her neck, wrist, finger, scalp and bruises on her arms. 

  • CCTV footage from her marital home, where unknown men were moving her corpse.

Twisha’s husband, lawyer Samarth Singh, and her mother in law, retired Giribala Singh, were identified as suspects.

Twisha Sharma Death Case: Timeline 

  • Around 10.26 PM on 12th May, 2026, Twisha Sharma was founded hanging from the terrace of her marital home.  

  • On 13th May, 2026, she was declared dead by the authorities. Subsequently, her husband, lawyer Samarth Singh, started absconding from the Bhopal police

  • On 15th May, 2026, Bhopal Police filed a formal FIR against Samarth Singh as well as Twisha’s mother in law, with charges like dowry harassment and abetment to suicide.

  • On 18th May, 2026, the Bhopal District Court denied anticipatory bail to Samarth, while the mother claimed Twisha was a drug addict and was undergoing psychiatric treatment. 

  • 19th May 2026: The Bhopal Police announced a bounty of ₹10,000 for anyone that could provide information, leading to his arrest. Twisha’s family demanded a second autopsy and that her case be shifted from Bhopal to Delhi.

  • 20th May 2026: As per the latest reports, the post-mortem report from AIIMS Bhopal confirms that Twisha died from hanging, despite previous allegations of foul play.
