Twisha Sharma was a 31 year old model and actress, who hailed from Noida. She met lawyer Samarth Singh on a dating app in 2024 and fell in love. Subsequently, the two got married in December 2025. But barely five months later, Twisha was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal.
The New Post Mortem Findings: Death Was From Hanging
Now, as per the latest reports, the recent post mortem report has confirmed that Twisha Sharma died from hanging, not murder. According to the report, her official cause of death was antemortem hanging by ligature.
The report was from AIIMS Bhopal and mentioned “double reddish patterned ligature marks” around her neck with skin that was dry and hard. It also specified that the ligature marks around the back of her neck were incomplete, a common sign in death by hanging cases.
The previous autopsy report hinted that she might have been murdered, with signs like a missing belt and a forced abortion, performed roughly a week before her death.
Family’s Allegations: Abuse and Dowry Harassment
Twisha Sharma’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, and her brother, Major Harshit Sharma, have both protested the suicide narrative around her death. Both men protested outside the residence of MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal and claimed that they wouldn’t perform her last rites until a second autopsy is conducted.
Twisha’s family has accused her in laws of subjecting her to emotional torture, extortion and dowry harassment. They have also claimed that she was coerced into getting the abortion by her laws, who stated that the baby was illegitimate. Navnidhi Sharma recently requested that the legal proceedings of the case get shifted from Bhopal to Delhi, so that there is no tampering of evidence.
