Weather Today (05, February 2026): Winter conditions are still prevalent in the larger part of India as February starts with marked differences in temperature, visibility and humidity. North India is experiencing thick morning fog and cold nights, while the coastal and southern parts of the country remain relatively warm and clear. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the coming days will witness stable weather conditions, with light rainfall and isolated snowfall in the higher Himalayan regions. Here is the weather update for cities across the country on February 5, 2026.
Delhi starts the day with fog, which reduces visibility in the early morning hours. The IMD forecast is a maximum of 22°C and a minimum of 8°C, thus maintaining the winter chill. The wind remains light and the humidity levels remain high, thus making the winter mornings even more biting. The next five days are expected to see temperatures remain around normal.
Chennai is experiencing a relatively mild winter day with partly cloudy skies with the temperature goes up to a maximum of 30°C and a minimum of 21°C. The humidity remains high at 74%, but a gentle breeze of 11.8 km/h provides some relief and there are no chances of rain.
Mumbai gets to experience a bright and clear day with the warmth that comes with it, considering it is still early in February. The temperature touched a maximum of 31°C and a minimum of 23°C at night. Humidity remains at 61% with a constant wind direction of west-northwest at a speed of 12.7 km/h and there are no chances of rainfall.
Hyderabad will begin with a light mist in the morning, gradually clearing to partly cloudy skies with the maximum temperature will be 30°C, while the minimum temperature will be around 18°C where the wind will remain light at 8 km/hr and the humidity will be 63%.
Karnataka enjoys bright and clear skies along with a cozy winter atmosphere. The peak temperature during the day is 29°C, while the night cools down to 15°C with a mild breeze blows at the speed of 18.2 km/h, and the humidity level remains constant at 63%.
Uttar Pradesh is experiencing clear skies in the mornings with light fog that doesn’t last and there is a possible shower, which is only 6% likely, but otherwise it will be a dry day. The high temperature will be 22°C with a low of 11°C and the humidity will be relatively high at 76%.
Rajasthan had a maximum temperature of 23°C and a minimum of 12°C with clear skies. The wind was light, at a speed of 7.1 km/h and the humidity level was 48%, making it a dry day.
The IMD predicts mainly dry weather over Jammu and Kashmir until February 8. There may be isolated light snowfall in the higher reaches during the night of February 6. From February 9 to 10, scattered rain/snow will occur in a few places, after which dry weather is expected. It will remain quite cold, with sub-zero temperatures in a few places.
The temperature in Punjab will range from a maximum of 21°C to a minimum of 8°C. The chances of rainfall are very low, at 5% and the sky will be mostly clear while the humidity level is 65% with light wind at 8.4 km/hr.
Ahmedabad is seeing a clear and warm day with temperatures ranging from 19°C to 31°C where winds are strong at 17.6 km/h, humidity is 60%, and UV levels remain moderate.
