India is witnessing mixed weather conditions on 7 April 2026, with rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rising temperatures expected in several regions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), multiple western disturbances and moisture-laden winds are influencing weather patterns across northern and central India, bringing rainfall to some areas while other regions continue to experience early summer heat.

Meteorologists say April may witness above-normal rainfall across parts of India, which could temporarily moderate temperatures in northern and central states.

Will it Rain or Snow in the Hills?

Weather systems moving across the Himalayan region are expected to bring light rainfall in lower hill areas and snowfall in higher reaches. Reports indicate precipitation in parts of the western Himalayas due to active western disturbances affecting the region.

Tourist destinations in the hill states could witness cloudy skies, rain showers and occasional snowfall at higher elevations over the next couple of days.

How Will the Weather Turn in North Indian Cities?

North India may experience a temporary shift from intense summer heat as cloud cover, rain and thunderstorms lower daytime temperatures in some areas.

Meteorologists say the current weather activity may bring temperatures closer to or slightly below seasonal averages, especially across north-west India.

However, humidity and fluctuating temperatures could still be felt in several cities.

Delhi-NCR Weather Today

Delhi and nearby regions are expected to see partly cloudy skies with chances of light rain or thunderstorms in some pockets.

Weather experts say intermittent rainfall and gusty winds could bring brief relief from rising temperatures in the national capital region.

Chennai Weather Today

Chennai may experience hot and humid conditions, typical for early summer along the eastern coast. While rainfall chances remain low, isolated cloud build-up could occur later in the day.

Mumbai Weather Today

Mumbai is likely to see warm and humid weather, with daytime temperatures remaining high and coastal humidity making conditions feel warmer. Skies may remain partly cloudy through the day.

Hyderabad Weather Today

Hyderabad is expected to witness warm daytime temperatures, while isolated thunderstorms may develop in surrounding regions due to atmospheric instability.

Karnataka Weather Today

Parts of Karnataka could experience rising temperatures along with occasional thunderstorm activity, especially in interior districts. Coastal areas may continue to remain humid.

Uttar Pradesh Weather Today

Cities across Uttar Pradesh may see partly cloudy skies with chances of thunderstorms and gusty winds later in the week as weather systems move across northern India.

Rajasthan Weather Today

Several districts in Rajasthan are under weather alerts for rain, thunderstorms and strong winds, which may temporarily bring down temperatures in the state.

Wind speeds during storm activity could reach 50–60 km/h in isolated areas.

Jammu and Kashmir Weather Today

Jammu and Kashmir may experience cloudy skies, rainfall and snowfall in higher altitudes, especially in mountainous regions as weather disturbances remain active.

Ahmedabad Weather Today

Ahmedabad is likely to see warm daytime conditions with temperatures around the mid-30°C range, while some districts of Gujarat may receive light rain due to changing weather patterns.

Punjab Weather Today

Punjab could witness cloudy skies with scattered rain or thunderstorm activity in some districts as weather systems pass through north-west India.
