Weather Today (07 March 2026): Weather conditions across India continue to show a rising trend as early summer takes hold. The majority of northern and central India are experiencing warmer-than-normal weather, with temperatures between 21°C to 38°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Some areas are seeing an increase of 3-7°C above normal due to the lack of cloud formation and rainfall.

As far as weather conditions are concerned, there is a possibility that the Himalayan regions may experience a change because a weak western disturbance is crossing the region, which could result in light rain and even some snowfall starting today.

Will it Rain or Snow in the Hills?

According to the weather forecast, some parts of the Western Himalayas can expect some rain and snow from March 7 to 11. The MeT department predicts light rain and snow over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand starting today due to this weak western disturbance. However, the system is not strong enough to bring a drop in temperatures in the plains.

Will Western India See Heatwave Conditions?

The mercury is rising fast in western India. Coastal regions in Gujarat and parts of Maharashtra are already approaching heatwave thresholds. In Rajasthan, several cities have seen temperatures soar, and experts say desert districts like Jaisalmer and Jodhpur could approach 40°C over the weekend. A Heat Wave is very likely in isolated pockets of Saurashtra & Kutch in Gujarat.
